Alienware Computers are top of the line gaming computers, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dell.
They mainly assemble computer components into desktops for high performance gaming. These computers support graphically intense applications such as video editing, simulation and auto editing.
Founded in 1996 by Nelson Gonzalez and Alex Aguila, they are located Kendall, Florida.
Dell purchased Alienware in March 2006. The new subsidiary maintained its autonomy in terms of design and marketing.
At first Dell maintained its competing XPS line of gaming computers but after corporate restructuring in the spring of 2008, the XPS brand has been scaled down.
Many of the founders of Alienware are now working in a product-development role. Alienware is becoming Dell's premier gaming brand.
